A little about me...

Hello! I'm Joe. My journey into the world of media technology began from a very young age. Growing up, me and a couple of friends would play around with an old 4 track cassette deck, recording podcasts and make-shift radio shows in my childhood bedroom. Radio and music have always been special to me, and eventually I went to College to study Radio and TV Production, where a once great tutor, now great friend, taught me a lot about the world of Radio and Media Production, and gave me some amazing opportunities to work on outside broadcasts for various events (the most notable being live visuals for the Magic of Motown.) I learnt how to work as a crew to build, maintain and produce great things during my time here, and it gave me a great understanding of how widely used industry standard tools are put together and used.

I went on to study Audio Production at the University of Lincoln, and during my time there quickly got involved in the local community campus radio station. During my three years I went from Technical Manager to Station Manager, and completely re-designed the front end sites, oversaw various playout changes and upgrades, and hosted and produced many radio shows, including introducing a visual radio 'live lounge' type program towards the end of my run. - all with very interesting and fun technical challenges!

Since 2022, I have been working full-time at the BBC. I have performed a variety of different jobs from IP operations for BBC Sport to working within Audio teams for various productions, to my current role of broadcast operations within media technologies.
